30 Day Challenge 2017

Scripture chosen and daily thought by Greg Nass

Day 1: (2 Peter 1: 3-11)

3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.

10 Therefore, my brothers and sisters,[a] make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, 11 and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Thought: What is God calling you to do?  Throughout this challenge pray that he opens the doors, or continues to bless you in this area.

Day 6:  1 Samuel 16:7

7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. Thought:  Do you want to be kindling, or a tall Oak tree providing refuge and food to all the animals in the mountain?

Day 28:   Hebrews 4:12-13

12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Thought:  Have you ever tried to hide anything from God?

Day 29:  James 5:7-8

7 Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. 8 You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.

Thought:  What area of your life do you need to be patient?

And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Thought:  We don't need to go far, we don't need to overcomplicate this and make it a big deal...we just need to go. Just go to work and be a good worker.  Go to school and help someone with an assignment.  Be the Good news and do a random act of kindness at the drive through by paying for the car behind you.  Whatever you do just GO and God will take care of the rest.
